Education


Graduate of Boiling Springs High School- 1974
Attended – University of South Carolina, Memphis State University
In excess of 3000 hours of professional fire, EMS, rescue and related training.

Carey Ballew
Deputy Fire Chief

Deputy Chief Ballew has over 30 years experience in the Fire Service. He has been an Instructor for the SC Fire Academy since 1997. Chief Ballew has served PBFD for nine years and is currently responsible for Fire Department Operations and Training.

He previously served as the Assistant Director of the Spartanburg County Emergency Services Academy. Chief Ballew has completed the Fire and Rescue Management Institute at UNC Charlotte and has earned a degree in Fire Science Technology

Rainbow Moore
Administrative Assistant

 

Rainbow Moore joined the Pelham-Batesville Fire Department in November 2019. Before she came to work at Pelham-Batesville, Rainbow was the Administrative Assistant in Troop Three for the SC Highway Patrol for 16 years. She has been serving in administrative roles for the State of South Carolina for nearly 22 years. Mrs. Moore received an Associate Degree from Greenville Technical College in 2011 and graduated with honors. She is always looking to excel in her field of expertise and is determined to always be learning something new.

 

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brad, her three children (Trace, Abigail and Grayson), and their dog, Jake. Their family loves to travel; the beach is their favorite. Rainbow looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Upstate SC as a member of the Pelham-Batesville Fire Department.
